Since I've been gone

I know it's been a long time since I have posted; I have been awfully busy between last-minute projects and tests for school and Thanksgiving and what not.

Here are a couple of items you hopefully know about, but may not.

  • Dan Rather has decided to leave CBS. Most bloggers are reluctant to call it a victory, but I am not. I see no negatives from this man being out of the anchor chair. Sure, I will be happy when he is out of news completely, but we should take it one step at a time. Soon enough, folks. Soon enough.

  • There is a fierce election dispute going on in the Ukraine. To be completely honest, I don't know a whole lot about it other than the White House and the Kremlin have taken sides (the Russians have sided with the Prime Minister that supposedly "won," although the election is rife with fraud), but both are urging a peaceful resolution. The folks at Power Line have a nice post up where they link to this Washington Times story as well as a couple Ukrainian blogs. Go read it all.

Update: Instapundit has some good stuff too.

UPDATE 2: I just read this story from the London Times:

UKRAINE’S Supreme court blocked the inauguration of the country’s Moscow-backed Prime Minister as President yesterday, boosting the hopes of opposition supporters as their protests galvanised into direct action.

The court’s decision gave the pro-Western opposition leader, Viktor Yushchenko, his first victory in his struggle to overturn the official results of last Sunday’s election which handed the presidency to Viktor Yanukovych.
Good news there. Read the whole thing.

    Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
